Legalization, Certification & Attestation of the documents issued by the Sri Lankan Government


For the purpose of Legalization & Certification of documents, applicants are required to submit the original documents first authenticated by the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka.(Photocopies /scanned or tampered documents will not be accepted)



Please note that the documents without the authentication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not be accepted for these purposes.



Attestation of documents/ Certificates issued by the Government of People’s Republic of China



Any document issued by the Government of People’s Republic of China should be legalized by the Notary Public Office of the relevant province of P.R. China and
verified/authenticated by the Consular Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, P.R. China, before submitted to this Embassy for attestation or legalization.



Education Certificates and Police Clearance Certificates of Sri Lankan students issued by the Government of People’s Republic of China

 

Education certificates and Police clearance certificates of Sri Lankan students issued by the Government of People’s Republic of China should be legalized by the Notary Public Office of the relevant Province of P.R. China and verified/authenticated by the Consular Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, P.R. China (Tele :010-65961114), before submitted to this Embassy for attestation or legalization.

 

 Note: Certificate submitting time: 9.30 am – 11.00 am

           Certificate collecting time: 4.00 pm – 4.30 pm

 

 

 

 

Consular Fee

 

1.  Attestation and Authentication of Certificates

 

a.   Attestation of Documents as Justice of  Peace  -RMB 155.00

b.   Swearing or Affirming an Affidavit – RMB 155.00

c.    Administering an oath or affirmation – RMB 155.00

 

2.  The fee levied by the consular Division

 

a.   Education Certificates of the citizens of Sri Lanka – RMB 16.00

Education Certificates of the citizens of Sri Lanka (CSC   Scholarship Holders) – Free of Charge

b.   Any document of a Foreign National of Sri Lankan Origin – RMB 55.00

c.    Any Export document – RMB 315.00

d.   Any other document – RMB 30.00

 

 

Other Information



Payments should be made in cash at the counter if the application is submitted in person.


All original documents will be returned after perusal.


If the certificates and documents are to be returned by post, should provide a self-addressed delivery envelope along with the application.

 
Note: The Embassy will not take any responsibility for documents lost in the post.


If the applicant is unable to come personally to this Embassy to collect the documents, he/she may authorize another person, in writing. The person who comes for collection of documents should produce his/her identity and the original cash receipt issued by this Embassy.
