Sri Lanka Tourism at the Beijing Fair 2013

On the sidelines of the State Visit of President Mahinda Rajapaksa to China, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing together with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau set up “Sri Lanka National Pavilion” to exhibit Sri Lanka Tourism Attractions at the Beijing Fair (CIFTIS 2013) held during May 28 to June 01, 2013 in Beijing.

The Sri Lanka Pavilion showcased a number of tourism attractions for Chinese visitors including prototypes of Temple of Tooth Relic, Yapahuwa Entrance and Artifacts of Polannaruwa and Anuradhapura. Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Sri Lanka Tea Board, Gem and Jewellary Authority of Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan Airlines had their respective stalls at the National Pavilion to promote their products and services.

Sri Lankan Traditional Dance Performance was an added attraction at the Pavilion which was visited by thousands of Chinese and International visitors. President Mahinda Rajapaksa accompanied by Vice Mayor of Beijing Municipality and Ministers and Members of Parliament of Sri Lanka visited the Pavilion on May 29, 2013.
