President to sign three agreements with Chinese government today
President Maithripala Sirisena will sign three agreements with the Chinese government on matters concerning mega-investments and the country s security today (May 14), the President s Media Division said.

President Sirisena who is on an official visit to China, had called on his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping and briefed him on the measures which have been taken to protect national security in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The Chinese government had also agreed to donate 100 police jeeps upon a request put forward by the President to this effect, the President s Media Division noted in a press release.

The release went on to note that the steps which have been taken to ensure the safety of tourists and enhance investor confidence, will figure during the President s address at the "Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilisations" in Beijing.
